But then again, it might be different for two people. I grew up with a brother who had insanely quick metabolism — he could live each day like it was cheat day and gained zero pounds.

On the contrary, every single gram of sugar that I introduced to my body was a potential substrate for weight gain. And I acknowledged it and I adjusted my diet because of it.

I’m a firm believer that the key does not lie in oversimplified diets or avoidance of certain foods — it lies in understanding the complex internal mechanisms of every individual and adjusting their food intake to it.
