Dough Darlings was very small boxy kiosk that formed a neat little junction with the grassy parking lot, with a nifty logo that stood out from the street. The entire surface of the exterior was covered in glass, and boasted equally spacious indoor and outdoor area. The outdoor is composed of a wooden-topped L-shaped bar with artistic metal stools.

Heliconias, wall-art, fresh donuts.

The indoor immediately gave into the distinct aroma of freshly baked donuts. They line the display neatly, each row unique with their own frosting and garnishes, safeguarded from the reach of hungry customers by a thin glass pane. Too bad I don’t eat donuts.

On the bar is a bright red La Marzocco Linea Mini, definitely the cutest of the current La Marzocco lineup. Beside it are 2 grinders: a Victoria Arduino Mythos and a La Marzocco Lux D. The three makes a mighty extravagant statement.

The dream set-up for all small coffee shops.

Coffee: Piccolo (IDR 30.8K, legitimately)

Served in a 4 oz. demitasse and based off a single shot, which came out perfectly balanced with hints of caramel, moderate body and gentle acidity. Good glass.

Not the best art, but who cares when the coffee is good.

Verdict:

A great place for artisanal donuts, with customer flow that can compete with the better donut shops on the island. The coffee is not far-off too, for that matter.
