Seth Godin wrote a brilliant piece on the topic of privacy. Essentially, he posits the notion that people don’t truly care about privacy, but they care about being surprised. Like the father who discovered her daughter was pregnant, and perhaps you with that mistaken speeding ticket, we don’t like being surprised. And I agree that the best way to mitigate this issue is to stay well-informed amidst the information chaos.
